I was also not able to slipstream the Version 1. I will try version 2

Make sure the old version isnt slipped before slipping the new version

According to the list of installed updates, there is no previous version installed.

im having this issue too.
tried both manually and using vlite. none of them worked.
maybe another version will solve it.

Windows6.0-KB941649-v2-x86.msu works for me but I'm bad to the bone

This sounds a bit like a problem I have had. The context is slightly different, as I am using Microsoft BDD 2007 to prepare a Windows Vista deployment. Have a look at this link and see if that helps you:

The idea here is that KB941649 requires a \Windows\Prefetch folder to exist in the WIM image that you install. On the Vista DVD, I believe this image is located in \Sources\install.wim. The Windows AIK includes the tool ImageX which you can use to mount this image and add the folder.
Like I said, I am not sure this will help you, given the different context, but this allowed me to integrate the update KB941649-v2 where nothing else worked.
