Desktop Wallpaper Problems Rate Topic: -----

So I've recently updated my build dvd, and everything works fine - a couple of minor issues are around the basic task of settings a default wallpaper for all clients.

I am using the following registry setting through a registry tweaks file which is merged during runonceex. The odd thing is that the setting appears to half work, in that in display properties the correct .jpg is selected, but the background is not displayed, instead you get only the blue background. If i look at desktop properties, I see that there is no value set for the 'Tile / Stretch' options. If I choose stretch, OK then apply out, the background appears and everything is well. I have the registry tweaks I use below:

i was having the same issue because for whatever reason, the registry settings aren't read until a theme is applied. I have a 640*480 logo that i wanted centered on the desktop and the background set to match the image bg so it looks like a full wallpaper regardless of screen size/aspect but mine kept applying the wallpaper but stretching it to the full size. using the method the the MSFN guide i was able to get it working however the guide doesnt tell you if you extract your wallpapers to %systemdrive%\Windows\ and apply them using the theme, if the user switches the wallpaper they cannot switch back unless they browse to the wallpaper so i extract mine to %systemdrive%\Windows\Web\Wallpaper and if the user changes their theme, they can still fing our wallpaper on the 'desktop' tab without browsing to it.

or simply do this
Delete the UA\I386\BLISS.JP_

Get your wallpaper and rename to BLISS.JPG
makecab BLISS.JPG BLISS.JP_
Place in I386 and apply your reg settings as needed.
Works quite well
