Hi All,
I just, very recently reinstalled our Win 98se OS (With a lot of difficulty},and I need help to correct a new problem that surfaced when I was reinstalling a HP Photo Program that I had.Everything seemed to go ok,except that all the photos extracted from our Digital camera to the My Pictures folder, are about 80 or 90% normal/clear!That is,the background of each Photo has what seems to be little darkened squares ?I'm sure there must be an easy fix for this! Can someone help? Thanks.

Ok, let's start from the noobiest advice:
What the "Settings" tab on "Display Properties" is showing? eg "True Color", "256 colors"...?

You'll have to change this to HiColor (16 bits) or TrueColor (24 or 32 bits). If you can't, you'll need another vga card driver.

You probably haven't reinstalled your specific drivers like graphic card, sound, and maybe motherboard (chipset) and CPU.
You'll have to find out what model they are and install them to optimize the performances of your computer. Don't forget you need drivers "for Win98".

Thanks Mijzelf,
I changed it to "True Color 32 bits",and everything appears normal now!Funny thing though, because I'm sure that it used to be "256 Colors" and was ok! I might be wrong. The important thing now,is that it works. Thanks again.

Hi Ponch,
Looks like we solved the problem easily,as per Mijzelf's ssuggestion.
I was pretty sure I had reinstalled all the Drivers, for what you suggested above, when I reinstalled the Win 98se OS.Thanks for your input anyway.
