leadboots - those instructions are NOT "slipstreaming" in the same context we understand it. This is the same as has been mentioned above already.

:blushing: and it takes ~250 mb more space on disk and takes more time to install.

Office 2007 does not have the integration (or slipstreaming) feature. Integration into the source is the old way according to MS. The new way to install updates is as mentioned by Dynaletik (in post above). Put the updates in the Updates folder and it will install.

This has been mentioned in the White Paper by MS here: http://office.microsoft.com/search/redir.a...=AM102512381033.

The "superior" way requires more disk space and as I understand it all it does is install whatevers in the updates folder afterwards, its not actually installed "with" Office, its installed afterwards.

MS took a BIG step backwards with this one.

Of course, its probably only a matter of time before MS will do it themselves & sell the Office 2007 SP1 cd.

Um, **** it after installing SP1 it Word crashes every time when closing, this is logged in event viewer, same every time:

Faulting application winword.exe, version 12.0.6211.1000, stamp 46d4a7df, faulting module hpz3r5ha.dll, version 61.71.244.0, stamp 45f91d42, debug? 0, fault address 0x000467e8.

Anyone else having this problem after installing SP1? Seems to be because of hp printer and see I am not alone:

Update:

Comodo Anti-Viruspyware (CAVS) is causing the crash... :(

Update 2: No its not, that was something else, still crashing... need a new driver but hp tech support sucks

Anyone figured it out yet?

Hi,

What about Microsoft Office Compatibility Pack Service Pack 1 (SP1):

http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details...;displaylang=en

Simply placing in the updates folder does not cause it to install or at least Microsoft Update and Office update still think it has not been installed.

Any thoughts?

Thanks,

Will

Hello? Microsoft Office Compatibility Pack is for Office 2003, not for Office 2007!

Cheers ;)

[ overwrite the old files with update ones]

aviv00, i have merged your topic with this one. since it is essentially asking the same question. Hopefully this will cut down on the duplicate posts for this issue and maybe get us a solution :)
