Hi everyone!

I'm attempting my first unattended install for 2000>XP rollover for a midsized company, and my first post here. (I've been going through the Unattended Guide religiously, excellent job on that!). We use a lot of proprietary software that I would like to include in the installation. For ease of use I will probably just use a batch file and [GuiRunOnce] as it is not very complicated software, but I am also wondering about the AutoInstall feature that comes bundled with Ghost Corporate.

The way I understand automatic installations is that there are different processes/switches/etc... that you need to follow for different installer types and such. In an effort to standardize my installations, I am thinking of creating a Norton Autoinstall executable for each prorgam so that way they all use the same installation method, get installed to the same place, have the same settings, etc....

Is this feasable??? I'm not going to use Ghost itself, only AutoInstall for a CD. (Incorporating it into a Ghost image comes next, lol).

For those who have used AutoInstall before, are there any switches that have to be applied to the batch file to install correctly? I'm loading one right now on a Virtual PC with WinZip, so I'll see if it works in a little while.

Thanks a lot for your help!

So Winzip installed without needing anything extra. But that's winzip. Gonna keep trying programs until I find one that doesn't work... at which point I will be back to cry @ everything.

Cheers,
Tim
