The OFFICIAL SATA DVD-RW Compatibility Thread

Recommended Posts

I'd love for anyone and everyone who owns a SATA based DVD-RW to participate and share the information they have. I'd like to create a complete compatibity list of drives with what chipsets they function properly on. So if you've had a good or a bad experience, please share it here.

Post as much information as possible, but you MUST post at least the DVD-RW Make and Model, the Adapter Card Chipset or Motherboard SouthBridge Chipset AND if using IDE Mode, AHCI Mode or RAID mode.

Everything working flawlessly on my rig. See specs in my signature.

EDIT:

I was running the rig without AHCI enabled until a few days ago when puntoMX posted how to enable AHCI after windows is installed. Now I'm running with AHCI enabled and everything seems just fine *touch wood*.

Lite-On LH-20A1S working on Intel ICH7 and ICH9, all on green ;) (yes).

@ nitroshift, You didn't post any thing in the topic of AHCI any more, please post your findings :) .

I'll blame the beer and the tequila from the New Year party, punto :Phttp://www.msfn.org/board/index.php?showtopic=109450

EDIT:

I was away from home for the New Year party (no pc, no internet) and only got home last night, so I could only post when I arrived home... Info added in the AHCI thread ;)

I can confirm for certain that the LG SATA GH20ns10 does NOT work on the Intel ICH9R chipset for booting. Installation of Windows Server 2008 has been nothing but problems because of this.

Added to the charts. Thanks.
