Good replacement for default XP Picture viewer?

I'm lookng to replace the picture viewer with something a little more beefed up.

I found futurix imager: http://www.fximage.com/ (the site is getting retooled now)

But is there any way to show thumbnails in explorer if I replace the default XP image viewer? Maybe with some registry tweaking, supplementary programs... I want a method to 'integrate' the viewer into explorer. It doesn't have to be futurix, any other will do.

It has to be fast and able to show a bunch of formats (including PSDs and vector formats).

Any tips would be appreciated. What should I bee looking for?

I found something that can generate thumbnails for PDFs: http://www.filedudes.com/PDF_Thumbnail_Gen...shot-22141.html

This is the kind of work-around I can use.

This is exactly what I was looking for. It even supports Xara files! NICE! And 64-bit for later!

It looks nice so far. I have to test out the shell extension. Do you know any way to have a better zoom? Mine is very blocky.

Can I use something like bilinear upsampling when zooming?

Options > View > under "High quality zoom" check both boxes.

Tried it. Its terribly slow.

I'll stick with the standard block zoom.

Happen to know how I can disable playback of media files? Its annoying when I get them confused with pictures since they both have thumbs.
