Hey all, is it possible to have a wierd and wireless network, but on 2 differant routers.

i have a speedtouch 510, ( might be old but works) i want this as my wired network to connect my desktop and laptop, and then i have a orange livebox router that is connected to the internet and handles the wifi.

is there a way of having both the connections working.
i have tryed but as soon as i connect the wired network i have no internet. i have xp ( desktop) vista on laptop

cheers

In what order are you connecting them? DSL -> Wireless -> wired or DSL -> wired -> wireless?

Whichever is at the end should be set as a "dummy switch" and the router functionality turned off, or you need to be sure that the first device is passing through all of the DNS information to the last device. You might also try not using the "external" network port on the router and just use the normal out ports to connect everything.
