Hi all,

is there any possibility to remove the MediaPlayer coming with Server2003? The "normal" uninstall way does not work, even with "unhiding".

I already know, that the MediaPlayer is soo deeply integrated into the os that it won´t be removable - thank you MS for publishing this news every time again... but for the other OS like XP it already works, so why not with 2003?

Thanks in advance,
Elian

It's the same way removing media player for XP. Edit the files references by syssetup.inf. The forum has more details.

Hi,
thanks a lot- there are many things I have to read for it.
Unfortunately I do not have enough time at moment, so I will only be able to try it later.
But a short question about it - I only read a little bit about removing in WinXP. This kind of removing does only work with editing the setup-disc of 2003 and then install 2003 completely new - is that right?
And if it´s right - is there no way to remove on an always installed system?

Bye,
Elian
