Is there a way to do this? I don't want to block the user from being able to install drivers, I just don't want the OS to automatically search the driver store for new hardware (more specifically only display drivers, but if it must be global that's fine). Any suggestions?

1. Go to control panel and go into System
2. on the left pane Click on Advanced System Settings
3. Select the hardware tab and click Windows Update Driver Settings
4. Choose the option you want
i. Check for Dirvers Automatically
ii. Ask me each time i connect a new device before checking for drivers
iii. Never Check for drivers when i connect a device
