From my home XP PC I am able to run remote desktop to XP and Windows 2003 machines at work without any issues.
However, when I connect to my Vista Enterprise PC, every minute the RDC session pauses for about 10 to 30 seconds then finally begins to work again before it pauses again about a minute later.
I have disabled everything on the RDC Experience tab and even set the connection to 28.8K and still the problem occurs.
I have tried connecting over two different VPNs and the same problem occurs.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Try Turning off auto tuning for the NIC, on the vista machine run this command,
Disable Auto-tuning/RSS on Windows Vista:
======
1. Right click CMD.exe and click Run as Administrator
2. Type these commands and press Enter:
netsh interface tcp set global autotuninglevel=disabled
netsh interface tcp set global rss=disabled
3. Please reboot Vista and check if it is working now.
Try your RDP from your XP machine again after having done these steps on the vista machine

I tried your recommendations and still have the same issue.
Does anyone know if there is something is SP1 for Vista that may fix this problem?
