Several times over the last month I have come down to my computer only to have found that it has restarted in the night. I checked to see that it wasn't a vista update and there was none. Is there a way I can tell what caused this and why? I just installed vista in December and all else seems to be working great. Thanks.
I am running vista ultimate 64 bit.

If you look in the windows logs > system event log (eventvwr.msc), do you see any 6008 events at or around the time of the reboots?

I am not by my computer right now but will check it later. What are 6008 events?

Unexpected reboots. If you see 6005 and 6009s without 6008s, it means the reboot was expected, and should tell you why.

I found out what it was. It was my diskeeper that was scheduling restarts. I forgot about that. Duh.
