What desktop search tools are reccomended?

I'm looking for something that can search through documents, stored Outlook email, metadata from Videos, Music... etc.

Anything besides Google and Copernicus. I tried both, I want something lite, or that can read more documents.

1. Well what I was planing to do ( but will never get around to it since I dislike these ) was to just take parts of the HTML search call up code from the google / Startem / Jebbs / AOL and make a html page with all these bars and then search.
Input the HTML as a background on your desktop and presto instant searcho anytime but.....

2. You can also use a flash maker/complier ( like flash FX/MX whatever ) and build a flash executable that will load each time you turn on the PC. This way the flash will load with the search engine bar inside it and you search and it opens a bigger window.

3. You can make a HTML page that allways open everytime you turn on the PC with a small enough window to search in that will display results as you search. You can also remove borders ( which I do not know how to do ) to make it look stylish.

In terms of just finding one I have the mini browser that is in my WinAmp.

Way too complicated. I think I'll get Copernicus 1.x from OldVersion.com

Have you tried Windows Desktop Search? Aside from a minor glitch a few versions ago with it's installer, I found it quite easy to use, and very user friendly.

No search tool is going to be super-lightweight, since they'll all working at indexing your files, and keeping that index readily available.
