Do the HFSLP***.INF files exist in the I386 folder on the new CD (or ISO)? If so, can you ZIP the new TXTSETUP.SIF and attach it here?

Hi, it appears the files are present in the I386 folder.

I've attached the txtsetup.sif file in a zip file as requested.

Thanks!

Attached File  TXTSETUP.zip (81.69K)
Number of downloads: 9

Your TXTSETUP.SIF seems fine. Have you tried removing programs from the HFSVCPACK/_SW1/2 folders?

Not really. You could check for hard disk errors with chkdsk c: /r (replacing "c:" with the drive your HFSLIP working folder is located on) and using different media.

It seems to happen on any computer I run HFSLIP on.

It's not just at T13 that it happens, its upon first login as well.

Tom,

The problem is caused when slipstreaming windows media player 11.
Is there anything I should look out for? Any updates that conflict with it?

ok, i've tested slipstreaming windows media player 11 completely on its own and the Error: could not locate INF file 'C:\WINDOWS\HFSLIP\IHFSLP151.INF' occurs.

What has been changed in the slipstreaming process that will be causing this?

I want to verify if something weird is going on during Windows setup.

Do you know how to create an ISO on your own? If so, remove the following line from HFSLPGUI.INF in SOURCESS\I386 using Notepad and save the file:
HKLM,"SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\RunOnce",HFSLIPGUI,0x20000,"CMD /C RD/Q/S %WINDIR%\HFSLIP"
This causes the temporary HFSLIP folder (which holds the HFSLP*.INF files) to remain in the Windows folder after installation.

Ok, I've removed that line from the file.
Created a new iso and tried again. The error is still coming up at the T-13 stage.

Sorry to bother you with this, but I would really like to know what's going on there.

Can you do this?
Start installation.
When you get the error message about the missing HFSLP151.INF file, press shift-F10; this opens a command prompt.
Navigate to [C]:\Windows\HFSLIP and type dir /b hfslp1* which will display a list of file names starting with HFSLP1 (if the files exist).

To be honest, I'm clueless.

The files exist in SOURCESS\I386.
TXTSETUP.SIF instructs Windows setup to copy them over during TXTMODE setup.
You don't get any copy error messages during TXTMODE setup.
You even removed the command that removes the temporary HFSLIP folder.

Files don't just vanish...

I did notice one thing though, re-reading this entire thread. Maybe it's just coincidence, but you mentioned "C:\WINDOWS\HFSLIP\IHFSLP151.INF" twice. HFSLIP doesn't create "IHFSLP151.INF"; it creates "HFSLP151.INF" (without the "I" in the front).

It's just a typo.
What do I do now :(
The old HFSLIPS used to work.

For what it's worth, I am encountering the same issue. I did find a workaround for it though by opening a command prompt by hitting Shift+F10 and manually copying the files from the I386 directory on the CD to the C:\WINDOWS\HFSLIPS directory so that the installer finds the INF files and they get installed properly. Did a bit of digging into my TXTSETUP.SIF file and it is correctly formatted so that the files should have been copied in Textmode. My TXTSetup.sif was generated by the most current version of HFSLIP and everything else appears to work properly once I manually copy over the files. Would appreciate any help in automating this file copying.

Holy thread resurrection! When you ran hfslip, did you select the default values for the multiboot path? When installing the ISO, did you set up your VM to boot from the iso image? Are you trying to do something funky like some network install?

I used the default values for the multiboot path. I burned the ISO image to a disk and installed it on a physical machine, no network installs or anything funky.
