I meet this problem oftenly when I open certain webpages.

If you don't want to replace IE7 then turn off Error Reporting service.


Otherwise I reccoment Firefox + IETab (opens IE window in Firefox) for maximum compatibility.

Sorry guy for letting any misunderstanding invades.
Firefox is the best, which is known for its fast and efficient service, as quoted in many websites.
I do have a Firefox 2.00, and man, even the Grand Paradiso!
If you don't know about this evoluted Firefox, better check it out.

But guy, we are borned to cope every problem without letting it a chance to escape, aren't we?
In other context, are you going to leave your system go tearing out?

When I hit Don't send button the IE windows turn off automatically.
Well so, turn off Error Reporting Service do not really help.
So teach me if you know to cope with this problem.

I gave him a good solution, but I am biased towards Firefox because of its extensibility through addons.

Another option is Opera, but its got a higher learning curve.

That looks like IE7 - what happens if you run Internet Explorer with the -extoff command-line option?

C:\program files\Internet Explorer\iexplore.exe -extoff

I've seen this before and wasn't able to determine the exact cause. I solved it by uninstalling IE7 and then reinstalling the latest one that doesn't require the validation. Sorry, I can't be more helpful.

I had exactly the same problem met by Prober. At least you have your post here and I reckoned you are kind anyway. Not a bad idea, even.
I think I will reinstall it too.

I am curious if following clubertis advice helps any, that would at least reduce the possible causes.

You have a very old build number for Internet Explorer 7, you may want to try updating it.

Also the error message says it was a problem calling from the kernel32.dll module, which I doubt is directly the problem; you may be infected with malware of the rootkit type. Bad memory is possible but unlikely since you claim it only happens when visiting certain sites. Would it be possible for you to provide the url for one or more of these sites so others may try to replicate the behavior?

Seriously, an error in IE hitting kernel32 could be ANYTHING. Get a memory dump from Internet Explorer crashing, so we can stop speculating .

As I have told, I met the same problem of IE crash and today I have found out that it was the Flash Player. Though it was not te main cause but many got affected. I thought it was the problem of IE itself so I rolled back to IE 6. Could not take the hook off the problem, but at least I was revealed to the real cause. The old IE 6 displayed an error with the flash.ocx file, which is the Adobe Flash Player. So, the solution is, go to give your IE an update of the flash player. I got and install the currently latest version which is a Release Candidate, version 10.0 something and it finally rectifies the problem. And I have got IE 8 beta 2 now. Thanks to everyone!

We would have known immediately if it was a problem with a plugin if using the '-extoff' cvar allowed the websites to load.

Also with a memory dump we would have seen in the stack trace a failure in the ocx module.

But kudos for the information and for figuring it out!
