I know there is no "best" software but what tools do you guys use to erase your tracks and clear your privacy??
I've been using MRU Blaster & Mil Shield.

Any other suggestions for better alternatives?
Thanks for your input.

Sorry for 'bumpimg' this thread but I thought of something new....

It seems that no 'MRU cleaning' tool will clean all your tracks. I was thus wondering if it would be possible to create a batch/cmb/script file that would allow a user to erase all MRU files in the registry.

Any input on how to do it would be appreciated.

Thanks.

(In order of decreasing convenience) you could look at windows steadystate, or surf from within a virtual machine, or boot an OS from CD or into a ramdisk.
Or you could put your stuff in a Truecrypt volume, although you probably couldn't encrypt the whole disk if you have to share the machine with others.
None of these will hide your traffic from your ISP of course.

"Best" goes to running in a ramdisk, meaning no hdd is connected, and using encrypted proxies imo. For daily surfing though I just use Firefox Portable with the NoScript extension and Cookies disabled with exceptions. You could go further and have Firefox "clear Private Data" whenever it is closed. Still your ISP or proxy knows what you are doing.

Im not meaning specifically intnernet related traces. I mean traces that Windows saves behind in the registry and that is never deleted. Most of the "MRU Deleting softwares" wont delete traces of all known applications. This can pause a serious privacy and security issue.

A quick search in the registrt about those items will give you a clue about what I am meaning.

RecentDocs
MRU
RunMRU
Recent Files
Recent
mru

I need a quick script/batch file or anything that will delete those traces from my registry. I DONOT want to disable them. Just delete them when necessary.

Thanks fot your guys views and help :)
