Just wondering how to apply XP SP3.

1. Slipstream sp3 to no sp cd and install via repair reinstall.

2. Download and install sp3 and then I can repair install when needed.

Any Comments ?

Thanks...Kenw

cause sp3 is still in beta ...and it wasnt created for MCE.

actually it was created for MCE

System Requirements

* Supported Operating Systems: Windows XP; Windows XP Home Edition ; Windows XP Home Edition N; Windows XP Media Center Edition; Windows XP Professional Edition ; Windows XP Professional N; Windows XP Service Pack 1; Windows XP Service Pack 2; Windows XP Tablet PC Edition

Windows® XP SP1 or SP2

one could also argue that it is not in beta because it is currently in RC and will only become beta again if problems occur with the RC version but that might be a little nitpicky.

I used the way via WindowsUpdate to insert the RC v3311 into my MCE2005.

Actually it goes... I may write a bit in the Beta subforum (or the xpMCE neighbourhood) about my experiences ;)

First it seems some debug code may cause that the system is a bit slower

After integration and During setup windows:

windows can not find some files in: CMPNENTS\MEDIACTR\I386 Folder.

ehiEPG.dll

ehiTuner.dll

and ...

when i skiped these erroses my windows was converted to xp professional!!!!

I haven't tested this and hope it works or at least helps. The files needed fail to slipstream and must be added manually.

1. Extract SP3 into some folder

2. Locate "i386\root\cmpnents\mediactr\i386" from the extraction

3. copy those files to "cmpnents\mediactr\i386" in your install CD root

Ehshell.exe version 5.1.2600.5512 with a 4/14/2008 date, but I am think mce2005 has a 5.1.2700.xxxx version

well good luck!
