I’ve just bought and installed Microsoft Money 2005 on my windows vista computer. When I signed in using Microsft.Net Passport I was informed that there is an update for my copy of Microsoft Money. I downloaded the update and then restarted Money. However every time I restart Money and sign in using Microsoft .Net Passport the following message appears:
“An update is available for your Money software. To install this update, you must be logged on as a member of the Administrators group. Log off Windows, and then log back on as a member of the Administrators group. Restart this program to install the update”
What does it mean “to log on as a member of the Administrators group”?
To verify that I have the latest update for Microsoft Money 2005 online Help says that the version of Money should be 14.0.0.1105. The version installed on my computer is 14.0.120.730. Does this mean that I have the latest update?

You generally need Administrative rights to install software and make changes to the system partition with a few exceptions. You can quickly check if you have local Administrative rights from what you see when you right click on the start button:

As for your other question, that means the online help is outdated :P

The link you provided says that if you see on the Start button "Open All Users" rather than just "Open," the account is in the local Administrators group. “Open All Users” does appear on the start button. Still, every time I open Money a message appears saying “An update is available for your Money software. To install this update, you must be logged on as a member of the Administrators group”.
What can I do to install and verify that I have this update?

This problem has been resolved. What I had to do is to right click on the Microsoft Money icon on the desktop and choose “Run as Administrator”. All the updates then were installed.
