hide "Select the operating system" dialog

5 posts in this topic

Greetings...

As I've entered ProductKey -- I se only one "operating system" on that dialog:

Clipboard01.jpg

and it's logical (to me) that if there is no choose -- there is no needs in dialog. Also it's very annoying (especially if I'm creating fully unattended instalation). But I can't find how to hide it...

Is there a way to hide that dialog?

Best regards...

You should make your unattend file look like this:

<?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?>
<unattend xmlns="urn:schemas-microsoft-com:unattend">
...
...
...
<cpi:offlineImage cpi:source="wim:g:/vista/sources/install.wim#Windows Vista ULTIMATE" xmlns:cpi="urn:schemas-microsoft-com:cpi" />
</unattend>

specify the desired version using this part:

<ImageInstall>
<OSImage>
<InstallFrom>
<MetaData wcm:action="add">
<Key>/IMAGE/NAME</Key>
<Value>Windows Vista ULTIMATE</Value>
</MetaData>
</InstallFrom>
<InstallToAvailablePartition>false</InstallToAvailablePartition>
</OSImage>
</ImageInstall>

See your post in the Windows 7 unattend section. Although you may find Vista and Win7 XML is mostly the same.
