can anyone tell me if windows nt4 supports RIS and Windows XP Pro as a client PC

Nope... Windows 2000 server was the first to support RIS, and it does not support any clients below 2000 professional. Windows Server 2003 supports 2000 Servers and 2003 servers as well.

**** Windows Server 2003 wont install on my old machine in the coner as it only has 64MB of RAM

try installing win2k

You can open DOSNET.inf and edit the following line:

MinimumMemory = 134217728

to something like:

MinimumMemory = 33554432

(which equals 32MB of ram)

Windows server 2003 should be able to install then :)
