i have downloaded windows xp srp2 student edition .My question is how do i make a bootable cd so that i can format and install windows xp later on. I have magicISO V 5.0 AND Nero v 6.6.1.15

If the file you downloaded is an ".ISO", you just need to burn "IMAGE TO CD" in Nero. You do NOT put the file on the CD, you use the special menu "burn image".
