Hi, excuse me if this has been covered before or if it's just too simple a query (I'm new and not terribly techie!).

I have difficulty opening links in some web pages, or they don't load properly to start with. The common feature is that they are javascripts(?). Now I don't know what java is but I can tell you my operating system. It's Windows XP and I use both Firefox and IE7 as web browsers. The problem is worse with Firefox than IE7. I can do basic fiddling on the system and have been known to run scripts from the command prompt so it's not entirely hopeless but I find Microsoft's knowledge base incomprehensible.

Hope somebody can help

If you're having problems in both Firefox and Internet Explorer, it definitely sounds like something problematic deeper in the OS. Have you considered installing the Windows Script Host 5.7 update and seeing if that makes things any different?

I've run that script and it now appears to be working O.K. with IE7 but the page still hangs and won't load properly with Firefox. I've reported it to them

Thanks for your help
