I have a pc, that currently is not functional. Its windows xp and no brand, so i'm guessing it is a custom built pc. when i have wired everything up, and switched it on, it take a while at the start. It sits there and says Detecting Ide Drives. Then after about 40 seconds, it brings a list down saying
Primary Slave: None
Secondary Slave: None
And so fourth until there are four of them. Then it comes up with some bits that i cant remeber, but it is saying that it has found the hard drive. Then it says;
BOOT DISC FAILURE, PLEASE INSERT SYSTEM BOOT DISC Then you press enter, and it says the same thing after about another 40 seconds of waiting. But i have set the floppy disc as the 3rd boot device, after, 1. HDD-1, 2.HDD-O. And wired it all up properly. So When i Press enter why does it not search in the floppy drive?
i cant create a boot disc, because i dont have the original windows xp disc with any of the windows xp's that i own. How would i go about aquiring one?
Thanks.

Does it list any hard drives at all? The only legal way of acquiring a Windows XP disc would be to buy one.
