I do know that any of the Home/Workstation editions of any AV doesn't work on a Server. In that event, what AV software would you suggest?

How well does Symantec Corporate AV Server/Client 8.01 stack against F-Secure's AV Server 5.41? Which of these 2 is better?

I tried norton corp 8.1.1 on server 2003 and afterwards my server slowed to a crawl, don't know if it was related. I formated the server shortly thereafter :)

That's the one I use on mine. :)

Norton products are very good. The only problem with them is that they use too much resources.

Yup, norton seems to slow everything down. I am currently using Kaspersky. Seems nice, but I am on W2k Pro still .. so really can't help ya there ...

Symantec Antivirus Corporate 8.1?

no.. not norton. essentially the same thing though.. without the bloat, without slowing your machine down.

This is not 100% true. I have AVG 6.0 Free Edition installed on several Windows 2003 Server and it works very nice :)

I use Symantec Corporate 8.1 Client. I never had any trouble with it. It doesn't slow down my server at all. On the other hand, if you install the server, of course your pc will slow down a bit, but I don't think you'll feel that difference.

We run that config on our environment at work. We do not have any problems. It may have just been a onesie issue for you.
