You're assuming he's using 2 different partitions. If the boot files are on the winme partition, formating will make the computer nonbootable.

Don't just delete, but *REFORMAT* the partition that has ME on it

And edit the BOOT.INI to remove references to WIN ME. I'm assuming you have your ME on a partition other than the primary.

And...um......just be sure you know what you're doing :)

You haven't done tech support before have you? People do all kinds of crazy things, never assume someone knows what they're doing.

Simple Instructions

I am a Sysadmin for a Retailer. I wanted to see if could net send to a domain rather than individual computers. I typed net send "domain" "this is a test please ignore and click ok."

Shortly afterwards I recieve a call from a user...

Her: Ive got a message on my screen what do I do?

Me: What does the message say?

Her: It says "this is a test please ignore and click ok"

Me: Try clicking ok.

Her: Thanks.

Some people should not own computers

I work for a cable office. While working one Saturday I took a call. Everything was going great. The woman had mainy questions on our hsd. So after many minutes telling her the specials and setting up the appointment for our techs to go out.

I asked her "what version of windows do you have?" She took a minute to respond.

"Wells lets see I have small windows, big windows, tall windows and short ones." Then she starts going on about where they are all located in her house. Not listening to a word I said.

Finually I said loudly "ma'am I ment your computer"

She plainly tells me "ohh I ain't got one of them but I can go get one tomorrow"

I hung up and cracked up laughing and trying to figure out why she was calling me if she didn't have a computer and didn't know anything about them.

ROFL i found dat at techtales.com

heres another one:

Optional Extras??

A friend of mine told me this story, and it has been around for a while, but it actually happened to him recently. He runs a small computer business in our town, supplying PCs to homes and businesses and he gets a call from a customer one afternoon, it went like this...

Dealer: How can I help

Customer: My coffee holder on my computer is broken.

D: The coffee holder?

C: Yeah, thats it. Its attached to the front of the box thing.

At this stage the dealer asks for the pc model number and checks his records for an optional extra sent out with pcs that might be mistaken for a coffee holder and draws a blank.

D: I'm sorry, but I can't be sure what you're reffering to. Can you describe to me how you use it?

C: (long pause) OK. Its on the front of the box.(speaking slowly like the dealer is an id***) You press the button on the thing and and it slides out so you can put your cup of coffee on it.

The dealer had to quickly press the mute button on his phone so the customer couldn't hear his roars of laughter.

The customer was using the cd drawer as a coffee holder.
