@prathapml I sure didn't see it sorry

its not like bit torrent or kazaa or edonkey.
u could say its like emule, bc u need to connect to a server(hubs)
in dc/dc++ there is a huge hublist. according to their title's and needs u connect to 1 or more than 1 of them.
there are certain rules each hub holds.
say u're in Hub #1 and the rules are like this
share limit: 10gb
max upload ports: 5
min connection speed: dsl
and so on. u cannot really fake these since they're scripted...
file share limit: this is different than any of the other p2p programs. u actually need to share a huge amount of data so that u're accepted to the big hubs. the more file u share the better hubs u might get in. (logic works like this, its easier to find what u're looking for with more ppl with more files)
hubs: you can connect to as many hubs you want. some of the hubs have a certain rule saying "if u connect to my hub, u cannot be connected to any other".
the purpose of connecting to more than 1 hub is to be able to search and dl from many other ppl. say a hub#1 contaings 1300 ppl and hub#2 1700 u'd be searching from 3000ppl.
there is also another catch to it. if u're connected to hub#1(they want 3 upload slots) and you're connecting to hub#2 (also want 3 upload slots). u have to set u're upload slots to 6 in order to get into them together.
but I usually connect to just 1. since I share about 60gb which is kindda enough to connect to any of the hubs.
hubs have a limit, some of them have 1500 whereas some have 300 which less requirements.
dcplusplus.sourceforge.net will get u started. they also have a forum where u can ask questions. though its not organized very well in my opinion.
in few words. in most of the other p2p clients u connect to a network. which is a bigger network. in dc++ u connect to smaller hubs but u get what u need. and since its direct connect its pretty fast!
hope this helps. I know I tend to confuse ppl with stupid sentences but anyways, if u need anything else I'm always here (or even if not I'll be on msn/icq/msn mobile/not really on aim etc...
