Dear Experts,

I am totally new to this forum & need extreme support from all of u. I don't even know whetere my question is on right or wrong place.

My question is "I've recently downloaded Avira_AntiVir_Professional_2008_-_v8[1].1.0.606 alongwith Key file, It was quoted that Key is valid upto Year 2014. But during installation Avira says Invalid Key".

I've read almost all advices given in this forum, but its out of my limited understanding.

Pls pls pls someone help me to install Avira properly.

Bunch of Thanks In Advance &

Always Keep Smiling

Your key is a pirated one.Use free version of Antivir. It is good enough....

I updated my post to integrate a solution to get rid of the annoying ad after every update.
But I did NOT test it!

I added this command (as a RunProgram command) to the CONFIG.TXT file:
cacls "C:\Program Files\Avira\AntiVir PersonalEdition Classic\avnotify.exe" /e /d Everyone

Ofcourse anyone can use this command on any pc with Avira installed, anytime, to remove the add. What it does is change the permissons of the avnotify.exe file, wich is responsible for the ads. Source of this trick.

check my post:
install Avira Antivir silent & remove ad

Hello all.
I modified col400's Antivir8_AOM so that it installs Avira 9 Personal. col400, I hope you don't mind? I also removed option for creating nlite addon.

Anyways, here's the link - Antivir9_AOM

Not working for me : Error during execution "C\windows\temp\avira\basic\setup.exe " /inf= "C\windows\temp\avira"
This application has failed to start....

This error comes on a fresh installation of windows.

Replace setup.exe with presetup.exe in your command.

At what time of installation of Windows did you try to install Avira? I tried installing it again under Virtual Machine and it works without problems. I'm using WPI to install programs for Unattended Windows.

RunOnce

The same error I've got in a fresh windows installation when I've unpacked original setup and then I've run C\windows\temp\avira\basic\setup.exe " /inf= "....".
The error has gone when I've only run original setup, not installing.

Seems as if the setup needs Visual C+ Redist installed. This should solve the problem with setup.exe not working. Can you confirm that?

Antivir presetup.exe installs Microsoft Visual C++ 2008 Redistributable - x86 9.0.30729.17

I modified the file translated into ita by rainforest adding the italian version of antivir to the options:

antivir9_aom_it_en_de.exe

Tested and worked :)
