Unless you're planning to get infected within one or two days, then "maybe" be able to repair from within, I don't see the point in integrating that in any Windows installation... ? An update is equivalent to the whole download (one .exe file).

This addon makes a nice example of a true addon. Its fun to make to. But you're mostly right.
