 I have used earlier versions of nlite without problems.

however I installed 1.4.5 final and it stopped me.

I copied, as usual, my windows instal disks (mce) into a folder and started nlite.

I was informed that nlite only works on instal disks and not on installed o/s.

It stopped responding.

I removed 1.4.5 final and put on 1.4.1 ,which I used last time ok, it still won't let me in

Any ideas??

1.4.1 on another machine, installed in feb 08, works ok........... although it does warn about installed o/s it does process the slipstream.

Do what I do, put the CD in, tell nLite to load it from the original disk, it'll ask you for a place to store the files it's working on. I don't bother manually copying the files to my drive anymore. If I really REALLY need to do it manually, i've always got my XP disk sitting on one of my many drives as an ISO file. UltraISO will just rip the files back to a folder in seconds.

Also as Ponch pointed out, make sure you're not trying to make nLite read your installed windows folder (c:\windows)
