is there way to set the views of all the icons on your computer. if i go into a directory that i haven't been in yet, i always have to set the views to "list", instead of "tiles" or "details" or whatever the windowsXP default is. can i change this so that it applies to every icon on my hard drive? if so, how?

First set up a folder the way you like the view. Then go up to Tools > Folder Options > View, and click Apply to all folders.
