Hay all,
Just looking for a bit of advice, one of ym machines is AMD and i know there a problem with AMD and SP3 mainly BSOD, but i jsut read from technet it is appanrlty only affecting OEM versions upgrading to SP3. What i want to know does slipstreaming a retail version with SP3 then doigna fresh install cause this problem? dnt want to try then find i need to reinstall with SP2

The OEM / sysprep problem with AMD machines stems from the OEM using a sysprep image created on an Intel machine and placing this image on an AMD box. The Intel power management driver, after SP3, causes the BSODs (because the AMD processor doesn't understand what the Intel driver is saying, in layman's terms, and the box bugchecks).
Fresh SP3 installs on an AMD machine should not be a problem.

Thanks for the reply, i was aware of what he problem was but i just wanted to be sure that a fresh install with sp3 slipstreamed isnt a problem.
From what you are saying it shouldnt fingers crossed it works when i try it later tonight
