Just want to jump in and recommend that you slipstream SP1 into your new cd. Seems to work much better that way as opposed to installing it over XP.

I was copying the CD to my HDD when I got that error

@Skyfrog: 34% downloaded, but when its finished I will do that :)

hmm there are 2 reasons for that
1. obvious, your cd is scratched and your cd/dvd rom cannot copy that file, if u've another drive try on that.
2. Safe-disk cd copyright protections give that error, but I don't think xp cd's have copy protection

So its probably got a tiny scrat there then, have you got a copy of the file I can have?

i'd probably have it but once it starts to give errors it might have other errors on other files as well
I cannot check if I have it i looked at the i386 folder but couldn't see
(my windows is so dead my search doesn't work)

athlons have more L2 cache, but alot of people with the applebred (the newest ones that run at 1.4/1.6/1.8ghz) durons have been able to re-activate the cache, basically turning it into an athlon.

So would a Duron 1.2Ghz(ish) be a good buy?

Because they are a lot cheaper than the equivalent Athlons

id get this one if i was going to but one. but id check for mobo compatability first, and also cooling. what are you using now?

If your using Anything by amd or intel and you have the budget for it Water cooling
will do you best for oc'in but that's just my Opion right now I have one Box with a 7" Fan in it one of then monster fans
