Found this while hexediting Setup.exe for Nero 6.3.0.0

nero6300.exe /SN=XXXX-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX /WRITE_SN /SILENT /NOREBOOT

This will silently install AND register Nero. No need for register.reg or anything. :)
(replace X's with your serial.....)

Might work with earlier version, but I haven't tried.

good find! Does this by any chance work for Nero's last 5.5 release?

Edit: nope, doesn't work for Nero 5.5.10.54 :)

Isn't 5.5.10.54 an upgrade-only version that requires a previous edition of 5.5 to be installed??? :)

There's a 'full' install of 5.5.10.54 on ftp4.nero.com.

Hi

It works with 6.0.0.28, but a serial is needed at first startup.

Thought I would add my experience to this. Installing via /WRITE_SN switch has achieved a registered install however though I am also using the /SILENT /NOREBOOT switches I am seeing the install screens. No need for user input but they are appearing is this normal?

This test was done in the RunOnceEx section using the nero6.3.0.0 executable. Have noticed that nero6.3.0.2 is available but have not tested with this.

Cheers.

If you don't want the Nero progress windows to appear, there is another switch you can use, called /NO_UI I think. Use /help to see a full list of switches.

Although, the NO_UI switch surpresses the progress window, you will still be able to see the window where Nero installer extracts all the files before installation. I think there is switch that disables the use of the "CANCEL" option too.

OK I can confirm having tested the /NO_UI and /NOCANCEL switches all visible screens except the extraction process have been taken care of. Certainly not a show stopper.

Many thanks.

granted it takes a bit more space, you could just right-click on the install nero installer and select extract, and then point your install scripts to setup.exe using the same commandline options

Allanol. That ofcourse did the trick. A perfect silent install now if only all the other installs could be this easy.

If you want to run completely silent and not have to uncompress the setup file, load the nero6302.exe into WinRAR, click the Comment button, change the Silent=2 value to Silent=1 and resave the comment.

If you want some more command line switches to play with...

Already known:

/HELP
/LANGUAGE=
/LOGLEVEL:
/LOG:
/NOCANCEL
/NOLICENSE
/NOREBOOT
/NO_UI
/PATH=
/SILENT
/SN=
/WRITE_SN

A few more:

/AutoFinishApp   - Bypasses final dialog window
                    (clicks FINISH for ya)
/CONFIG=         - Appears to allow for an alternate setup.cfg file
/REMOVE=         - Something about removing a temp folder
/REGISTER=       - Registers DLLs using a list of names in a text file
                    (deletes text file when done)
/CHECK_SUPREC    - Asks setup to check for a supported recorder
(Not sure what happens if it doesn't find one.)

Others that I'm not sure of:

/BurnRights
/CHECK_UNINSTALL
/COPYFILE=
/FORCE_INSTALL
/INCD=
/MULTIMGR
/MULTIMGR2
/MULTIMGR2=
/NO_UNINSTALL
/NOW
/RESTART_MULTIMGR
/RNTLIBUPD
/SETLANG=
/SFX
/UNINSTALL
