System Specifications

VIA KT400 Chipset - AMD AthlonXP CPU T-BredB - GB of PC2700 Kingston
AGP 8x Capable - Fastwrites Capable - Ran Full 8xagp Fastwrites on Previous GeforceFX5200 128meg
Radeon 9600Pro 128meg using Catalyst 3.9
Windows XP Pro

If i have the SmartGART installed with the VIA 4-in-1 ver.1451 AGP driver the AGP bus screws up so bad its not funny.

Massive Screen corruption and after abit the radeon trys to run my monitor in 35hz refresh .. and whatnot - looks asif the cards memory is faulty.

An older version of the catalyst runs ok but freezes if i try to change the windows res - then tries to run my monitor in 35hz after abit. when windows trys to call back to the prev reso coz i haven't clicked OK the screens goes black.. waits abit and a flashing cursor at the top left appears and thats it. Games also ran ok but then the PC would freeze completely after a little while.

Uninstalling the VIA Gart and only having SmartGart works perfectly, but only 4x AGP no Fastwrites. and no matter what i do it wont budge.

I uninstalled the SmartGART and installed the VIAGART and it runs 8x agp but no Fastwrites still.
So far the VIAGART seems like the best choice. but i want to know why i cant get Fastwrites to work.

Any Help ?
TIA

35hz refresh --> jeez must be very bad for the eye :)
though I dont have any idea on the subject,
maybe call the company who made it? which brand is it btw?

if its known to be faulty you might get a replacement?

LOL, only monitor that will do a 35hz refresh are the really old ones that dont have out of frequency protection.

mine does :)
but i have seen a monitor doing 5hz refresh, a good old tnt2 and Powerstrip and you can do wonders hehehe. It really looks amazing to.

Ive now got my post up on amdmb.com and seems i may find some help.
