@disgraceful33:

You just need the msi file.
It's a "recorded" installation from the standard setup exe.
InstallShield got some pretty useful tools out there :)

thank you,

and could this method conceivably be used for most of the apps that there is confusion over how to make them unattended?

I'm sending the 5.01 versions to XtremeMac right now. But I bet he's got his hands full with Desert Combat 0.6 :)

@Clifford:
Does this problem also occur with the 3rd version?

Here's a whitepaper with a "how to" using VMware with the repackager:

http://www.installshield.com/downloads/rel...tepapers/6x.pdf

I'm creating a new msi with a mst file for no video associations from a clean environment.

Ok here's a basic guide:

1. Clean up XP as far as possible or best use a clean VMware XP installation. See the pdf file a few posts before.
2. Start Repackager and select "Installation Monitioring" and select an empty folder for the new project.
3. Install your application and finish the monitoring.
4. Build the files once (F7) and switch to DevStudio.
5. Open the .ism file in DevStudio and goto the Project Assistant tab for an overview.
6. Adjust your installation if necessary and build the final msi file.

As long as there a no drivers or additional packages involved it all should work nicely.
