K-Lite's Inno-setup uses (or can use) 7-zip for compression. That's hard to beat with a msi installer.

btw the regular silent switch is:
klitekpp243.exe /VERYSILENT /SP-

personally, i like DevSTudio over AdminStudio.

the difference is that AdminStudio has Developer and other goodies, while DevStudio is InstallShield's latest creation combining Developer and Professional into one.

I also like Wise Install Studio, since it is cheaper and can do most of the same stuff as Adminstudio.

sorry, correct name is Wise Package Studio.....still cheaper then installshield.

when you first install it, when first run, there will be on the left some check boxes with tasks to do. If all you plan to do is repackage, just run the one the says "Define SetupCapture standards". Just select whatever you want, and any folders you don't want it to monitor, (i have my download folder not monitored for example)

then click the tab that says Tools, and select the option that says SetupCapture. Everything should be pretty straight forward. And easy to use.

i installed the package studio :)
but i dont have the task "Define SetupCapture standards"
there is only SetupCapture(Windows Installer) and some other tasks..but not for repackage
i only can repack Programs with WindowsInstaller with this Task
i installed the program as Standard Edition and Professional Edition

repack is the setup capture, it creates a new install. It does the same thing as AdminStudio thing.

the "Define SetupCapture Standards" is under projects, sorry.
the dropdown box should say InitialWorkbench Setup

:/ Unfortunately, it won't let you use it again, the ONLY way I know to date to bypass this is to install it every time you do do a fresh reboot of the comp........

maybe someone can look into how to bypass this?

Oh, and by the way, if you got the connections..... :) You can get the program :D

And, uh.I thought that this is a WINAMP topic??? Guys? not DEVSTUDIO! LOL

We won't allow discussion of that on MSFN.
