I'm just wondering what ever happened to version 4.  Last i knew was version 3 then BOOM version 5. lol :)

they say that "4" would be the testing of Winamp 2 and 3 integrated into each other, and thought there'd be bugs.....they worked them out.....and decided that they they should call winamp 2 and 3 together = 5  .......get it now? :D

that would indicate external cab files.

what is teh size of your msi file?
it should be over 2 megs (i'm guessing here)

@XL-DJK95355 :
Apologies. Haven't gotten much sleep. i just never saw the point of creating links to another website, even though they are clearly visible. People learn by doing, not following others.

Ok, so how exactly are we supposed to install this silently, or is it even supported?

Hi,

I've got same problem like larciel - installer give the "Error 1433" and say that some file "Data1.cab" coud not be found. So where is the problem?

Where can I get this Data1.cab? Or I do something wrong?

10x in addvance.

I finaly found where is the problem.

I don't know why, but in the pakage exist a file with non latin simbol in name. That is the problem.

So I rebuild the winamp.msi with WinInstallLE and remove this file. The problem is that I don't know what exactly is doing this file. But now installation do not give an error.

I hope this will help for building an .msi pakage without this file and then posted somwere.

Here is the screenshot with properties of corrupted file:

I just made my first (re)package and am thrilled to see it installs silently with the /qn switch! :)

It was Winamp 5.04 with minor adustments, I noticed that indeed the .dll mentioned in the earlier post was required (option in software checks if the scan was complete), should be put in the system32.

Wouldn't have worked if I didn't stumble in this thread.
It seems everything can become unattended now
Thanks a bunch people!

(first post in forum btw, hi!)
