Hello :) ,
I just installed Windows 2003 and im having problems with my games and video driver. I downloaded the latest Catalyst driver (3.10) and Control Panel crashes after logging in. I am also having troubles with games, whether they dont load at all, or crash to desktop after a short while. Also :/ , the explorer seems to crash randomly for no reason, it does no harm, but is quite annoying. Any help would be greatly appreciated! Also, Is there anywhere I can accually download updates for Windows 2003 so that I can keep them for later?
Thanks for your time.

Ok,
I fixed my control panel, didn't realise I had to enable dx acceleration for both displays
But I still have the same problems.
Thanks again

u didn't mention how many displays u have

1 thing 2003 I believe is the server edition right?
if so its not really optimized for game playing...
apart from this I dunno 2003,
u should be able to play hitman :)

other thing are the games legit or using somethingelse, if u're using something else they might not be compatible with 2k3...

Windows Server 2003 is for servers, not desktops/workstations.

Obviously. Apart from this, some games can be played on Win2K3 Server. Suggestion is to check the support site for the manufacturer of the game.

I doubt the manufacturers will say anything except to say xp or higher..
and i doubt that u will be able to find anything on 2k3 game support.
I don't think its meant to play games on!!!

Even though it's not meant for gameplay, the differences on Win2003 and WinXP when it comes to games is minimal. I have Win2003 now and it will play all my games, just expect to lose a few frames (Anywhere from 1-5). But otherwise, Win2003 might be able to play games better just in the sense it is more stable in my opinion.

does ur control panel say that the video drivers aren't workign and wont' load? to fix that you just need to enable hardware acceleration an it shoudl work on the reboot.

if the games don't work right try putting the game exe's in XP or 2k compatibility mode.

im running win2k3 fine without any problems. games that is.
