Ripped AERO from build; now want it back Rate Topic: -----

Hi,

I made an vista ultimate image without AERO, I ripped it. Now I need it back! Is there a way without reinstalling VISTA to get it back??

you can't just reinstall aero.

What if you do a repair with a Vista disk that has Aero on it?

Did you just remove the theme? Or did you remove Desktop Window Manager Session Manager? In the latter case, you must reinstall the OS. If you just removed the theme, then someone who has the theme (C:Windows\Ressources\Aero) should be able to upload it (I removed it so...).

I did the same thing. I just opened vista in a virtual machine in vmware, and copied it from the resources folder on that to my own machine. No problems. Aero works just fine. :)
