I've read some good stuff about it!
and u don't have to switch to 64bit os. its interchangable. so it works with 32 bit as well..!!
from past experiences get a good cooling mech..

Some guy said that you'd have to OC an Intel P4 3.2GHz to get it to perform like an AMD running @2GHz

internal clock thingy!
I've 2.5+ which has internal clock of 1.8333
so if u have
maybe 2.6 ghz ~ p4 3.2
this is good for amd if u didn't understand this comparison
@Metallica1 whichever you decide on, don't give up alienware!!

Judging by your PC specs, too much bias.
It all comes down to user preference if you want an AMD or Intel. I lean towards Intel, but don't post bulls*** like P4 3.2ghz performing like an AMD 2ghz one thanks.

uhmm... i dont do much with my computer. i dont do video/music editing, anything like that. i use it to play games for the most part.
if you are a futuremark/madonion member go do a project search and compare for 2001se. the top spot is held by an amd fx-51 at 3071mhz. the second place is a p4 ee at 4566mhz. thats a 50% higher clock speed. the "slowest" p4 on the front page is 3.8ghz (which is in 19th overall) vs. the slowest amd @ 2582 (18th overall).
amd screwed up with the barton 3200+.. it was more realistically like a 2700-2800+. now with the A64 3200+, thats where it should be.

why spend $2000-$4300 (depending on if its 733/766/800mhz plus cache size) on a chip alone that runs 32bit apps slower than a 32bit processor? but it would be nice to max out the ram for one of those. 16 terabytes of ram. jeebus.
