I have read people can do this ... But now matter how much I strip things from my Vista installation disc, I always end up with no less that 3GB ISO output-ed from vLite. So, what should I do to end up with about 700MB ISO. Thank you.

I have been able to manage to push the size down to 1.3GB. Wondering what else I could strip out to get a 700MB install iso. The main things that I definitely want to keep are wireless, ethernet, and audio. Anyone can give me a guide on what to keep? Cheers,

Thanks for the link... that's very helpful.

Btw, with my vlite-d Home Premium Vista (stripped down to about 1.3GB) I tried to use it and the installation wont proceed because Vista install can't find any drive to install on.

What components I have stripped out that I should not have? Thanks for your help.

Thanks Kelsenellenelvian.

As I am writing this post now, my vista is installing.

I, however, still got 1.3GB at the least. I followed the preset at at http://www.msfn.org/...gs-t111149.html and still ended up with over 1GB ISO.

I noticed that there is one component alone in the System that has 1.239GB in size i.e. Component Cache (winsxs). But it says that if I remove this component, the ISO size won't be reduced by much and it will remove Control Panel which of course I would like to have on my Vista installation.

Please help. Cheers,

And another thing, I just finished the install and it turned out that my mouse doesn't work. Installed the driver and still doesn't work.

What I have removed that I should not have?
