FreeDOS + Win98 SE?

Well, no. It isn't a derivative of FreeDOS and it is not Open Source.

Home page: http://dos.nm.ru/

There are contrasting views on it's origins:

Command.com in LZ-DOS is hacked and COM-to-EXE converted file from IBM PC DOS 2000. Look for "REXX" strings there. And in the beginning you can find warning "NEVER TRY TO PACK COMMAND.COM: IT WON'T WORK!!", so you can be pretty sure that LZ stands for some kind of LZ exe compression of other files.

IO.SYS and SYS.COM are probably hacked and LZ packed executable files from Win98SE. Look for the string "You are overwriting system files from a different version of LZ-DOS or Ablakok" in SYS.COM. You should read "MS-DOS or Windows" instead. To be sure about Windows version someone should find a tool to unpack IO.SYS and compare the unpacked file with original IO.SYS files from different Win9x versions.

Tihiy managed to remove the embedded logo and config manager:

http://www.msfn.org/board/index.php?showtopic=45103

but no details on how it was done.

And I seem to remember something about decompressing IO.SYS on some cChinese DOS board, but don't think that any detail on HOW to do it were posted.

There is also this snippet in the readme for grub4dos:

Bean has successfully decompressed and booted IO.SYS of WinME.

But again no method explained.

Roses are red (at least they were red 9 years ago).

Any chance that you can start a new thread actually describing in detail what you are looking for/asking? (as opposed to reviving a not connected old-old thread with your vague references)?

WHAT is "QSoft-2"?

In which way is FLTK:

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/FLTK

which is a "widget GUI interface" connected with Windows 9x?

Or with WINE?

QSoft-2 is graphical software that depends on Windows 9x, 98SE or ME, to control a pick and place machine for assembling circuit boards.

I'm thinking if wine can work in freedos that fltk could provide a graphical environment...  would be nice to get this software out of Windows 9x

as it is getting very difficult to run it on modern hardware.
