I have an XP installation CD.
I'm using WINNT.SIF in this CD, because I want some system folders addressed at specific positions (Program Files, Common Program Files, etc... in different partitions).
Now I need to do an XP repair (that is, an XP installation repair).
I boot from this XP CD hoping I will reach the Recovery Console menu, and hoping I will be able to skip this menu to get to the other menu where I can choose an XP repair installation.
But my CD doesn't display the Recovery Console menu, and I'm not given an option for a repair installation neither.
Does it have something to do with the use of WINNT.SIF?
An if it does, what should I do to be able to perform a repair installation, so that this process respects the locations for system folders I specified within the WINNT.SIF file ?
Thank you very much for your help.
