i use subst command to create local disk G: of
D:\folder1\

how to make it permanent?

Try using psubst:
http://alter.org.ua/.../persist_subst/
http://alter.org.ua/soft/win/psubst/

Worth the look is the program NTSUBST, which allows you to temporarily reassign existing drives. For example. if your c:\ drive is a smallish fat disk (in multiboot), you can ntsubst this to something else (eg q:\cdrive)
