Silent .NET Maker synthesized 20100118 - W2K/XP/2K3 x86

1,004 posts in this topic

Simplier explanation:

1) First, you need 7zip split http://www.mediafire.com/?f4wgdqrdnij and 7zip, google if you don't have it already.

2) make your installer (*.exe) with snmsynth as usual

3) With 7zip split select your installer and "extract" the three files (check all)

mini_101005064158420046.png

4) Extract in a subfolder the *.7z file obtained, then go to the DNF11 folder and copy NDP1.1sp1-KB2416447-X86.MSP in this folder.

5) In this folder, run this command: msiexec /p NDP1.1sp1-KB2416447-X86.msp /a netfx.msi /qb this will install the update.

If you don't know how to run this command, make a txt file in the current folder with this command, save it, then rename it to .bat and run it

6) Now delete NDP1.1sp1-KB2416447-X86.MSP and eventually the bat file

7) Select all files in the folder and make a 7zip archive with 7zip (choose ultra compression)

mini_100818093531553585.png

8) Move the *.7z archive just created in the folder where you have the *.sfx and *.txt file (you can overwrite/delete the older *.7z archive, it isn't needed anymore)

9) Final step: combine the three files with this command: (open a command prompt or make a bat file like before)

copy /b 7zsd.sfx + Config.txt + archive.7z installer.exe

Of course you have to rename the files according to yours.

That's it, you have an up to date .net installer ready to be used.

If you want to make an addon just replace old executable in the svcpack folder by the new one (it must have the same name) you just made.

Thank you Mooms & SunLion, nice work.

I think I just make a "create.cmd" batch to execute these commands.

Could not find command line switches for 7Zsplit, else it would be totally automated.

Cheers.

A bit later than others, but I think there is a better way to integrate the problematic KB2416447.

User_hidden commented that KB2416447 replaces KB979906, so I looked at the two packages and concluded that they can't be that different.

So what I did:

1. Deleted the old KB979906

2. Copied the new KB2416447 to the work dir

3. Renamed it to the old KB979906

4. Everything got processed, installer is now 47.8 MB. No errors. Conclusion: There must be some issue with the filename, perhaps to many characters.

There were another two updates, namely:

KB2418241 - It has two updates inside, we can use the iexpress method to make them BOTH.

KB980773 inside has a different hash than the old KB980773, so I made a new one and replaced the old one.

KB2418241 replaces KB976765.

All three updates processed and included in the package. Still an awesome tool.

Cheers,

Escorpiom.

Much better with its discovery!

With another test here, renamed the KB2416447.exe for KB992416447.exe and it is processed fine, without bugs.

You have .NET 2.0SP2, .NET 2.0SP2 in Turkish and .NET 2.0SP2 inside dotnetfx35.exe. You have to choose one of those three, and only one.

E.g. if you want .NET 2.0SP2 in Turkish, delete netfx20sp2_x86.exe. Open _SNMsynth.ini and under .NET Framework 3.5 find the setting: Process .NET 2.0 from package and select NO.

Cheers

Lejon89,

You should read the first page and the last pages. Especially the answer to your question about NDP1.1sp1-KB2416447-X86 is on this very page.

If you can't take the time to read and investigate you won't be able to successfully create a .Net all-in-one installer.

I'm always willing to help people but in your case the answer is just to obvious, you did not read.

Cheers.

EXTRA Question : Can we integrate .Net 4 with this method?

For the archives below, it uses tutorial of iexpress in this post:

NDP20SP2-KB2418241-x86

NDP30SP2-KB982168-x86

NDP30SP2-KB982524-x86

iexpress tutorial.pdf – download:

http://www.msfn.org/board/index.php?app=core&module=attach&section=attach&attach_id=30257

In the case of the NDP35SP1-KB2416473-x86.exe, you to only add it in the folder of the SNMsynth, that it will be processed normally.

It is not possible to integrate Net 4 with this method, therefore it does not consist of script of strel.

Could not find command line switches for 7Zsplit, else it would be totally automated.

7ZSplit.exe name_sfx_archive.exe -c name_config.txt -m name_module.cfg -a name_archive.7z

Thank you gora, nice find! The method involving 7Zsplit is not needed anymore but those switches will come in handy the next time.

I made it !

i integrate NDP1.1sp1-KB2416447-X86 hotfix with mooms's method

Well I'll be.....!

Just rename the file and it will integrate, no need to split and recompile.

Cheers.

In relation to NDP30SP2-KB982524-x86, with iexpress you it will have to create two new installers (EXE), using two archives MSP its interior: NDP20SP2-KB976576.msp and NDP30SP2-KB977354.msp.

Put the two new installers in the folder of the SNM. It does not place in the same folder the original archive NDP30SP2-KB982524-x86.

With me it functions very well.

i create two new installer and their name is NDP20SP2-KB976576-x86.exe and NDP30SP2-KB977354-x86.exe and i don't put NDP30SP2-KB982524-x86.exe to WORK folder.

After i create my silent .net installer.

NDP1.1sp1-KB953297-X86 is superseded by NDP1.1sp1-KB979906-X86 which is in turn superseded by NDP1.1sp1-KB2416447-X86.

Read the title of this topic:

It is not for Windows 7, besides Windows 7 has .Net framework already included.

Cheers.

You can run it through RunOnce with switches, or use those switches to make a switchless installer with 7-Zip, WinRAR (shareware) etc.

Here are the switches
