go to a command prompt & then point it to the .exe. add this (/?). so it should look like apps.exe /? (it should give a list of commands, it doesn't always show all the commands) or u could also check w/ the manufactor of app.

Whenever i try to do this, the program tries to install on my computer. It doesnt give me a list or anything of the sort.

The way I do it, is go to Command Prompt, and try out every switch I know of until it silently installs.

Is there a place where i can get a list of switches. Im really new, obviously, and a lot of the information is scattered. Ive had to go looking for a few things on numerous occasions.

Try the common ones first until the setup screen doesn't appear (then you'll know it silently installed):
/qb
/silent
/SILENT
/s
/S
/q
/VERYSILENT
/s /v/qb
Then go to the official website of the app and look in the FAQs or email the developer. (but its recommended you find out what installer package it is before bothering the developer with questions that you can answer yourself)
