I have been using MS Streets and Trips since 2000, each year getting the latest edition. Today, i got the newest 2009 edition.
I removed the 2008 version and attempted to install 2009. Towards the end of installation i get an Error box the states, "Licensing Initialazation error has occurred- Error 0xC004D301" and the installation ends. It says install complete, but when i try to open the program, i get the same error box and the program does't open.
I checked the install notes and it said to turn off anti-virus and try to re-install, but got the same error box.
I started into the MS support request but got to a page that said all request were $35. I only paid $39 for the program.
Am i missing something on support? Wrong page or something?
This is the first time i have ever had any installation problems with Microsoft product's, so i am a novice to this support system of their's.
I certainly would appreciate any advice or pointing in the right direction, to obtain a resolution.

If you have a retail version, you get free installation support. Call (866) 834-8317.

Thanks, just got off the phone with them. Regular supprt took the info on the product. Was then transfered to tech support and a very nice lady, Irene was able to Install a Zip file that took care of the Inialization problem.
All told, was on the phone approx. 45 mins. This is a known glitch, and seems they would issue a fix on the public update site.
As this was my first experience with MS tech support, i thought everything went smooth and quick.
