I have an intregrated Nvidia GeFore4 MX in my HP Pavilion. I want to upgrade to a brand new 256 MB Nvidia card. Is there anything special i need to do? Any tips?

The only thing you need to do is to disable the on-board Geforce 4 MX via the BIOS, then install your new card.

Integrated? You mean it came with it or its actually integrated? Do you know if you have an AGP slot or not?

Nice. The motherboard in your PC is the ASUS A7N8X-LA. Click here for product specifications.

You can upgrade to an 8X AGP card. Sky is the limit!

Like Aaron said, just disable the onboard video and install the new card :)

Thanks for the tips.

I'll install it soon and get back 64MB ram. I'll finally be able to play my games with ease and get all the 512mb of ram i paid for. :)

Not being a fanboy, but you may wanna at least consider a ATI. Do some research on them vs the nvidia. I came from Nvidia, but my 4200 was my last.

However, ATI SE cards are a waste of money, but the Nvidia SE cards are comparable to what the 4200 card was when it was out (Great value for money).

You will want more power! U should get at least a 300 or 350 for the next gen cards.
