After installing some updates and restarting, the desktop isn't loading right. Wallpaper and version number show up, but the icons are missing. I tried restarting explorer from the Task Manager as well as logging off/on. Curiously enough, the "Favorites" link in Windows Explorer gives a list of system folders instead of the contents of the Desktop folder. Has anyone else experienced this problem?

If you right click on the desktop and then go to view is the option for show desktop icons ticked or un ticked?

Boy, do I feel dumb! I didn't even think such a "feature" existed! Strange an update would change that setting...
