Does anyone know how to get rid of the WWW.windowsclick.com redirector ?????

I figured it out, I had to click on your "here ya go",,,
I tried that link and did not have the UACd.sys driver in my system,,,, I finially got it out by reading

and renaming the malwarebytes .exe file so it would not recognize it and then I could run the Malwarebytes program
and it cleaned me up !,,,,,

Whats with the "Moved" red arrow ?????

Hmmm... glad you got it fixed.

The link I gave also gave a link to the program you used. Just wasn't aware you had to do a "rename" (dunno why you should have).

re "envelopes" - Look at the bottom of the Topics List Screen for an explanation.

re "red arrow" - topic was not relevant where you posted it, so it was moved to where folks knowledgeable with you particular problem would see it. (Some are good with malware, some are good with installs, etc.)

Thanks for the help,,,,, I'll get the hang of this sooner or later !

The Rename thing was to trick it !,,,, everytime I tried to open up some kind of AV or test, it shut it down !
it also blocked the system restore.,,,, so I guess the renaming was a variable it could not handle and let
the .exe go ahead and run. Kind of went in undercover so to speak !

I've read the previous posts about windowsclick(dot)com. I'm having the same problems with it as bogart19 was, however the remedy given here seems not to be working for me. (S.O.B.!)

I'm in the USAF in Germany, and don't have much knowledge when it comes to computers. I'm a postal troop. Anyone have any suggestions/ideas so that I don't have to go to a computer store that charges $47/minute to fix this?

Any and all help is GREATLY appreciated.

Consider posting to a forum where people specialize in malware removal.

Please download my Anti-Malware Toolkit and get the Professional package. Then follow the directions in the PC Cleanup guide. After that, please post a HijackThis log.

Hello. This is my first post here. I am having the windowsclick redirector issue too and see the instructions, however I'm not seeing the driver that is supposed to be disabled in the list. I don't have avenger or the malwarebytes program installed on the machine yet. Is there something else I need to do in order to get it to show?

I have cleaned this off multiple computers now, here are the steps i took:

1) boot up into recovery console and type "Disable uacd.sys"
2) boot up into windows and delete the key HKLM\software\UAC (if you cant do this from windows do it from a live cd)
3) delete the driver from C:\windows\system32\drivers
4) delete the files left in system 32

Note: the driver and the files all start with UAC and have garbage after the name e.g uacjdiuwgfegfjfgksdf.sys

It cannot be remove by just any program, have tried a lot but only one thing works, its MBAM. I followed the windowsclick.com removal and its gone. Hope this helps.
